Blue Wildrye Farm is a pasture-based farm in Princeton, Idaho, where we raise food the way we believe it should be raised—on grass, outdoors, and with deep respect for animals and the land. What started as a backyard project in 2018 grew into a full family farm built around regenerative, permaculture-minded stewardship and thoughtfully managed rotational grazing, guided by our family's values and faith.
Today, we’re proud to feed families across North Idaho with pasture-raised meats and raw A2A2 dairy—clean ingredients, careful handling, and real flavor. Suzanne Johnson DittmerFarmerSuzanne is the heart behind Blue Wildrye Farm—and the one who first caught the farming bug with a veggie garden and a handful of egg layers. As the homestead grew to include Berkshire hogs, meat chickens, and eventually beef cattle, it became more than she could carry alone and Tim was pulled into the operation. Suzanne loves capturing farm life through photos and stories, and she’s especially passionate about the farm’s raw A2A2 microdairy (and her beloved Jersey cows) and crafting “deliciousness” in the on-farm commercial kitchen.

Tim DittmerFarmerTim Dittmer is the builder and strategist behind Blue Wildrye Farm—the “brains” who turns big ideas into working systems. In 2022, he stepped away from a full-time career as an economist to farm full time (and still does part-time economics consulting), then set to work designing the farm from the ground up: buildings, operations, and the rotational grazing plan, along with the pond and swale water system. Tim’s favorite animals are the beef cattle, and he’s happiest out in the pasture fine-tuning what makes the land—and the whole farm—work better each season.

Kayla MindenDairy Assistant/Farm HandKayla is Blue Wildrye Farm’s Dairy Assistant and Farm Hand—she started as our dedicated dairy helper and quickly became so invaluable that her role expanded to caring for all of the animals. She handles milking, bottling, parlor care, and daily chores with meticulous attention to detail, always keeping milk safety front and center (and she’s already earned the nickname “Jersey Whisperer”). Off the farm, Kayla is growing her own homestead with goats, ducks, geese, pigs and chickens—and she has a special soft spot for our Jersey cows, especially Willow, our newest calf.
Hope HakimianFarm Hand
Hope HakimianFarm HandHope has been with Blue Wildrye Farm for over a year and knows the daily rhythm of the place by heart—especially on market days, when she’s the one holding down the fort back at the farm. She cares for the chickens, pigs, and cattle (and pitches in with milking when needed), with a steady, capable approach that keeps everything running smoothly. Hope raises goats on her family’s farm, and her favorite animals here are the pigs—always cheerful, jolly, and ready to see what she’s up to.
Camden HarrisHandyman
Camden HarrisHandymanCamden is Blue Wildrye Farm’s go-to handyman, working two days a week and tackling an endless list of building and repair projects that keep the farm running smoothly. A high school junior with a real passion for construction, he’s happiest when he has a project in his hands—whether that’s building brooders, fixing pens, or improving something around the property. Camden’s favorite farm “coworker” is Rosy, our 9-year-old livestock guardian dog.
